The Elites Social and Savings Club was organized January 8, 1950 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carlson York, 1308 Marcy St. Mrs. S. Putnam of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church presided over the group.
Mrs. Beatrice York of the Georgia Baptist College was named president of the group. Mrs. Sarah Putnam, vice-president. Mr. Robert Felson, recording secretary; Mrs. Effie Jones, financial secretary; Mrs. Beatrice Walker treasurer. Mrs. Louise Jackson, chaplain; Mrs. Odell Durham social chairman. Mrs. Ann Jones, historian; Mr. Carlson York, critic; Mrs. Jesse Martin, Follow-up Committee. Miss Elizabeth Smith is reporter for the group. Members are Mrs. Louie Clarke, Mrs. Sylvester Glover, Mrs. Barbara Starks, Mrs. Dorothy Deal, Mrs. Waddy Parks.
The next monthly meeting is scheduled to be held March 12 at the home of Mrs. Beatrice Walker, 221 Hilliard St. N.E. at 5:00 o'clock P.M. Miss Louie Smith, reporter.
