The Grenada Sentinel

Mr. R. G. Latting, Jr., former manager, Secretary and Treasurer of the Grenada oil mill, together with his excellent family, left yesterday (Friday) morning for Memphis, where they will reside in the future. Mr. Latting has been a resident of Grenada for about three years, and has made a splendid citizen in every sense of the word; and has left everywhere strong marks of his individuality. He is a high-toned gentleman,-a patriotic citizen.-a warm-hearted christian, whose influence has ever been felt ever since he located here. Socially, he is one of the most entertaining of men, and in business relations he ranks among the first, His wife is a most excellent christian lady, and is in full accord with her husband in all the developments of his noble character. The social circle will miss them.-our citizenship will miss them, and what shall we say of the Presbyterian Church, of which they have been the leading members? If we had been asked to part with any citizen of Grenada, Mr. Latting would certainly have been amongst the very last whom we would have mentioned. The SENTINEL, together with our community at large, bid him and his an affectionate farewell, hoping that their lives may always be under the inspiration of right and reap that reward which is intended for the good.
