Docket for the April Term of the Superior Court Is Made Up. Number of Criminal Cases
MONTESANO, March 23.-Prosecuting Attorney Stewart has arranged his slate of cases for the April term of the superior court which convenes April 6. There are two hold-over cases from the last term as a result of jury disagreements.
The case that will hold the public eye will be the murder trial of William Hacker, who killed his father-in-law, John Benn, in a shack near Oakville. Attorney Phillips, principal counsel for Hacker, is working up a strong defense and several surprises in evidence from both sides are anticipated.
Self-defense will be claimed.
Other trials slated are Darauche, charged with selling liquor to a minor; Brown and Pert, charged with robbery at a camp of the Polson Logging company; Moak, charged with forgery, Lesnich charged with malicious mischief in a garage where J. S. Waugh kept his car.
