Saturday, Feb. 3. We are just favoured with a circumstantial account of the late ill success of general Montgomery's storming of Quebec, which agree in every particular, with the account we have already given; with this addition, that the attack was made in the night time, and, col. Arnold's party having passed, unmolested, a whole line of heavy cannon, in the morning, upon the retreat of general Montgomery's detachment, were obliged to surrender prisoners of war, or be all cut to pieces in their retreat. Capt. Morgan's riflemen were in the number, and, as we mentioned before, behaved like heroes. Col. Arnold, after having his leg shattered, was carried off by two of his brave soldiers. The army is still before Quebec, and from the measures taken to support and reinforce them, people to the Northward make little doubt of that important place being soon in our possession. Poor general Montgomery is lamented by every body.
