FORD CAR WINS THE TRANS-CONTINENTAL RACE
Is Greeted By Cheers of Thousands of People.

SEATTLE, Wash., June 23.—The ocean to ocean automobile race was won today by the Ford car No. 2, driven by Bert Scott, who was awarded the trophy given for the great race by Robert Guggenheim.

The car arrived at the exposition gates at 12:55 and its advent was greeted by the cheers of thousands of people. No word has yet been received from the Shawmut car, which was said last night to be seven hours behind the Ford car.
