February 12.

A Philadelphia paper of the 2d instant, contains an address from the Assembly of Jamaica, to their Governor, petitioning for redress, by admitting American vessels with American produce, for nine months: the operation of the proclamation of July last, threatening them with the want of staves, pine boards, plank and building timber. Their Governor, General Campbell, in his reply, informs them, that his orders from the British Court, compel him strictly to adhere to the prohibition. But endeavors to console them, by saying he has wrote to the Governors of Nova-Scotia, and Canada, on the subject, and that they may soon expect a supply from those quarters.
