Ripley once saw a rooster that stood up and walked like a man. It was so much unusual he handed it down to posterity through his "Believe It or Not" cartoons.
But the Rev. A. A. Hebert goes Ripley one better. He has one of these rarest of all fowls and Atlantans this week will have a chance to see it in person.
Last year Rev. Hebert came here to conduct a series of evangelical meetings. At that time he had horned toads, a four legged chicken and a rooster that laid eggs. But his collection this year with the upright rooster goes these animals one better.
The evangelist has won national recognition because of his freaks, which he uses to illustrate points in his sermons. He has received lengthy write-ups in the leading papers, both white and black, throughout the nation. He has also sung over many radio stations.
The Atlanta place of meeting is the Evangelistic Tabernacle, Auburn and Fort which was formerly occupied by the St. Paul's Episcopal church. The time limit has been announced as 100 days.
Here is a picture of "Blizzard," Rev. Hebert's rooster that walks like a man. He is the duplicate of the famous rooster of that name and description formerly featured in the Thimble Theatre comic strip. "Blizzard" will be used in the series of evangelical meetings.
