Full Text
From the returns at the late State Election, it is evident that the good work is going on bravely in Massachusetts. Town after town which was under the coalition yoke is coming out for Jackson and Democracy, and in whole counties the democratic strength is highly respectable. It is true we have not killed the coalition snake at the first blow but we have scotched it. The next blow will destroy, even in Massachusetts, the National Republican, alias federal party. We have no doubt that the next year we shall have a decidedly democratic Governor, Council, Senate and House of Representatives in this Commonwealth. We have every reason to be proud of what has been done ALREADY, and every reason for the proudest anticipation of what will be done hereafter.
