Posse Surrounds Fugitive and Wounds Him.
Sioux Falls, S. D., Nov. 30.
A stranger who was arrested near Humboldt, west of Sioux Falls, after an exciting chase, during which he was shot and wounded, has been turned over to the authorities of McCook county and will be tried on the charge of attempting to attack a 14-year-old schoolgirl.
At the time of his arrest the stranger had in his possession a horse which answers the description of an animal stolen a few days ago near Hitchcock and if it proves to be the stolen animal he will be subject to trial in the state circuit court of Beadle county on the charge of horse stealing. The stranger evidently had slept in the school house where he attempted the attack on the girl.
