There was a surprise party for the teachers, the Misses McCormick, on Wednesday evening, at the Bacon home, given by the parents of the school children. They had music and singing and a few games, and a general good time was enjoyed by all. Harry Smith was a business visitor in Boise Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Laws are entertaining a few government boarders. Mrs. Shickling, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Laws, for some time, has returned to her home in Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Collins, of Ewing, Mo. arrived at their new home here on the Callsen place Saturday morning. They visited in Colorado and other places on their way here. Their young people had already been here a few days, getting things settled. Rev. Jones and Mr. Stiles are attending the meeting of the Presbytery at Boise this week, which began last Monday. There was a class party of the teenage class at the Symm's home Friday evening. Miss Elsie Swan spent the day last Thursday at her home near Caldwell. The Misses McCormick visited at Archie Johnson's Saturday evening The class party for the young people's classes in Sunday school this month will be held at Andrew Aitchison's Friday evening. The base ball team of Huston of which Everett Manning of this place is the manager, played at Marble Front Sunday afternoon, with the ball team of that place and was defeated, the score standing 3 to 5. People are busily engaged in irrigating. Mr Finn is our ditch rider this year instead of Mr. Hamilton, they having changed routes. If you wish to be treated courteously treat others the same way.
