In the eminent station he held in this hemisphere we are placed in a depth of misery and wretchedness. All those foreigners who flocked here in support of liberty are fled—many incarcerated by British influence solely. We have learnt the privateer Rosamond is lost on this coast. Many vessels have been detained here since the downfall of Miranda, amongst which is the brig Mountain Muse, chartered by Ferdinand K. Gourdin, Esq. of Baltimore, to go to Hayti in search of partisans to join Miranda's cause.
