Full Text

Extract of a letter from our correspondent, dated Nantz, April 15, 1806.

'About three weeks since there appeared in many of the Paris papers an article stating that the American Minister had received an order from the government to be more circumspect in his expressions relative to the government of France. This, the French government say was inserted without their knowledge; but every body knows no paper can go to press without each article being first exhibited to the police. Again, about ten days ago, in almost all the papers it was asserted that the American Minister was at Amsterdam, embarking for his own country. All the world regards these as broad hints for General Armstrong to walk off.'
