A bill entitled 'An Act to suspend the importation of certain goods, wares, and merchandize' was read the third time and passed in the House of Representatives. The preamble recites injuries suffered by the United States from Great Britain and prohibits importation of any goods, wares, or merchandize of the growth, produce, or manufacture of Great Britain or Ireland from and after the first day of November next, excepting articles now exempted from duty.
