County Court.-This court yesterday transacted business as follows:
In the case of Booth & Huseman vs Thomas Shanley, an action for debt, judgment was given for $25, subject to a credit of $10.
In case of Booth & Huseman vs. James McGannon, judgment was entered for $21.40.
In case of A. B. Sands & Co. vs. J. L. S. Hall, judgment was entered for $238.25.
In the case of the State of West Virginia vs. Thomas McKernan, defendant gave recognizance for his appearance on the first day of the next term of this court on a charge of assault and battery.
It will be remembered that McKernan was indicted for felony in assaulting and cutting Wm. McCurdy about two months ago. On Thursday the court dismissed the charge of felony, but required him to give bond for his appearance to answer the charge of assault and battery.
In case of S. Fiegley vs. James McCluskey, judgment entered for $180.58.
In case of the State vs. John Welsh, defendant gave a recognizance in $50 to keep the peace for one year toward the citizens of the County of Ohio, and especially toward his wife, Kate Welsh.
John Clark, charged with housebreaking, was discharged from the charge of felony. On the night of the 15th day of January, 1874, the store house of Thomas McCormick was broken into and two bottles of liquor, of the value of $3.50, were taken therefrom. Clark was arrested at the time, and committed to jail in default of giving bond for his appearance at court.
Christoff Repp, Fritz Winder, August Miller and August Ruat, charged with felony, were discharged, but required to give bond in $500 each for their appearance upon a charge of assault and battery. The parties were concerned in a row in Fulton five or six weeks ago, in which Repp was badly hurt.
Charles Williams, charged with felony pleaded guilty, and was remanded for trial at the next term of the Circuit Court.
The case of the State vs. Ferrell was called, but the witnesses failing to appear, it was dismissed.
In the case of William Myers, charged with committing a rape upon Louisa Jane Miller, the defendant was discharged as to the rape. His Honor has not yet decided, but will probably hold him for assault and battery.
At the conclusion of this case the Court adjourned over to 7 p. m., when the case of Wm. Babcock, charged with felony, was called, and evidence heard.
Babcock is charged with stealing $240 in money and a watch from Joseph Bloss, an intoxicated German, about three months ago. The court adjourned to this morning before the evidence was all taken.
