Temporary Organization Effected--To
Meet Again Monday Evening.
Public Invited.

The Ladies' Civic League met on Thursday afternoon at the City Hall and effected a temporary organization by electing Mrs. Jno. R. Davis, temporary Chairman, and Mrs. E. L. Grant, Secretary pro tem.

The attendance not being as large as expected or desired, the going into permanent organization was postponed till the next meeting.

It was finally decided that another meeting would be called for Monday afternoon, the 25th inst., when the election of a set of permanent officers will be effected.

The ladies present at the City Hall meeting all agreed to use their best efforts to extend the number of attendants at the coming meeting. Arrangements were made whereby all future meetings will be held in the store building on West Main street, recently vacated by Mr. Abe Hirsch. Mr. R. S. McMahon has agreed to supply all the needed furniture for the new headquarters.

The Ladies of the League have pronounced emphatically for sanitary sewerage.

They hope to coach public sentiment along these lines ultimately bringing desired results. They disclaim any intention of endeavoring to force the hand of the authorities in these matters, but, appreciating the fact that consideration of the subject will have to be indulged and that there is a big opportunity for missionary and educational work along this line, the league desires to co-operate with the authorities in bringing about better health conditions.
