Full Text

The late accounts from Jamaica, of the Spaniards arming in that neighbourhood, afford a fresh speculation of the temper and condition of that people towards England. There is no doubt but they came into the last peace with a bad grace. The failure of Gibraltar stuck in their stomachs, and continues, as an indigestion there still. It should therefore behove administration to have a cautious look out towards their naval armaments. For whether reported to act against Algiers, or on the Mosquito shore, it is neither impossible nor unprecedented, but that they may attempt a coup de main against some of the British settlements.
