W. R. Comfort, president of the Reid Ice Cream Company of New York, and John C. Huyler, the millionaire candy manufacturer, who have recently purchased a large tract of land in the Everglades, are having 200 acres drained on which they expect to plant sugar cane. If the growth of cane on this land is what the gentlemen expect it to be a larger amount will be planted next year. Messrs. Comfort and Huyler are large users of sugar and expect to manufacture all the sugar they use on their Dade county plantation.
