Invited To Two-Day Press Review
Yours truly has just received an invitation from Head Football Coach Jack Harding of the University of Miami. It reads as follows:
"Peter Aguilar, sports editor The Key West Citizen: We are counting on having you attend a two-day state-wide press preview of the University of Miami Orange Bowl football champs at the University of Miami Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 16 and 17, as guest of the University of Miami. We have a full program planned for both days. Let us know if you can come, so we can send you your train (?) tickets. Meals and room are on us, of course, Jack Harding, head football coach, University of Miami."
We have accepted the invitation and will be with the Miami U Hurricanes on Monday, Sept. 16 and part of the 17th, when I will take a Pan-American Clipper plane for Havana to spend 10 days there with my wife visiting friends and relatives.
Preview Program
A complete program for the two-day preview as guests of the University of Miami Hurricanes will be as follows:
Monday, Sept. 16—Morning, deep-sea fishing trip; afternoon, movies of the 1946 Orange Bowl game and other football games; evening, University of Miami football practice.
Tuesday, Sept. 17—Florida Sports writers Golf Tournament; afternoon, sightseeing tour of the University and places of interest; evening, cocktail party and barbecue.
