A man by the name of Gilbert, indicted a short time since at New York. for the murder of his wife, was put upon his trial yesterday in the court of Oyer and Terminer. The fact of the murder was fully made out, and the defence set up was insanity--The jury retired about eleven last night, and about one o'clock brought in a verdict of "Not Guilty." Gilbert is the person who came from Troy in search of his wife and found her at a boarding house sitting on a man's lap. He called her out of the room and then stabbed her with a butcher's knife.
