Full Text

The Louisville (Ky.) Focus says—" It is reported, that Mr Daniel, who was elected to Congress from this State, as a Jackson man, is no longer a Heroite, but has expressed a preference for any man that can be mentioned for President, before Andrew Jackson"—and the Focus asks—" what will have to be done ?" In answer to the query, we do not say as a great man said on another occasion—" shoot the deserter!" but we predict that, if the report be well founded, a warm fire will be opened on him from the Globe. The official print at Washington will not scruple to class Mr Daniel, as it did the signers of the protocol, with the " six militia men." There must be no halting, or falling by the way side, in the race of adulation.

Baltimore Patriot.
