Awaits in Death Row of
Ohio Prison for Summons
to Electric Chair
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 15—Silent and sullen, Harry Pierpont today sat in the Death Row at the State Prison waiting for the summons to death in the electric chair, sometime between midnight Tuesday and midnight Wednesday.
Pierpont was convicted of the murder of Jess Sarber, at Lima, a year ago.
The murder of the Sheriff cleared the path for John Dillinger's shortlived marauding freedom.
Pierpont was the trigger man of the gang.
The parents of the condemned man visited him Saturday. The Warden said he refused to embrace their religious faith and asked them not to attempt again to obtain the Governor's intercession.
