What's the Matter With Our School Spirit?

Is the school spirit of Smyrna High getting less as the years go by? That is the question that is being asked over and over again. Why is it that all the students seem to be indifferent to what goes on in our school? Should the blame be laid entirely on the students? It should not.

I fully believe that if there was a little more cooperation between both the teachers and the pupils things would be different. The students should show respect for their teachers, but can they if the teachers show none for them?

Instead of working for the highest level the students seem today to be content to get by; as the saying goes, "by the skin of their teeth."

Why is this true? Maybe you can answer the question, we can't.

The problem is left up to you, the student body of John Bassett Moore High School. See what you can do about it.
