IMMENSE TRAVEL.

The O. S. & C. Hauling Train after Train to Columbus—Over Two Hundred Car Loads Already Gone.

One of the busiest places in the city Sunday and today is at the Union depot, where trains have been loaded with people going to Columbus to attend the National G. A. R. encampment and the Ohio centennial.

Train after train has left the depot ever since Saturday morning last, and up to the present time the Columbus, Springfield & Cincinnati railroad has hauled

ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY CARS

from here to Columbus. This amounts to nearly 10,000 people, and not a single accident of any kind has been reported. An estimate of the crowd at Columbus this week can be made when the twelve railroads that run into Columbus are doing all the business they can in carrying people there.

Superintendent Reynolds, of the C. S. & C., and Train Dispatcher Hahn are handling the trains in good shape, and they all make good time considering the number of cars in each.

The trains consist of from ten to twenty cars each, and with the big new engines they are sure to get there.

Up to last night the business has been even, with a train every two or three hours, but today the trains have gone out of Springfield

EVERY HOUR SINCE 10 O'CLOCK

last night. This morning trains continued to come in from all directions, and are given on to the C. S. & C. road to continue to Columbus. Thirty-five car-loads of people came down from the north today, and thirty-seven car-loads came in from the west, over the O. I. & W. The Bee Line brought in about twenty-two car loads and the O. I. & W. report seven more trains before midnight tonight. The Ohio Southern accommodation had a little finger in the pie and brought in 208 passengers in two cars. Two special trains from Troy over the O. I. & W. came in today also, and trains are run out with as little delay in this city as possible.

The capacity of the C. S. & C. is being tested to the utmost and the road is equal to it, having splendid engines and plenty of cars and men. The track is in splendid condition and

AS SMOOTH AS VELVET.

If all the trains were put into one solid train it would be over two miles in length, or reach from one side of town to the other. The passengers will begin to start for home about Friday next.
