Full Text

Two years ago a squad of guerrillas took William Whitehead from his home in Galena, Stone county. No clue to his fate was obtained until last week when his body was found hanging to a tree, in a wood a mile from his house. The most singular part of the affair is that putrefaction had not taken place. The flesh had dried, retaining to some extent, the outlines of his form, which, in connection with his clothing that still remained, enabled his friends to identify him, after hanging two years by the neck, a short distance from his residence.
