Full Text

The editor of the Journal, accuses us of "violating the courtesies which should subsist between cotemporary editors." The head and front of our offending, was nothing more than allowing a correspondent to put a query to the editor of the Journal. He does not wish, however, that his name should be made known to the public, a request which on our part shall be most cheerfully complied with.

At the time we mentioned that Governor Knight would decline a re-election to the Senate, we did it on the authority of the editor of the Journal, and had not the assertion been made in the Journal, we should not have mentioned the subject.
