"WHY DID IT END, OH KEY WEST MOON?"

Key West Moon, dreamy Key West Moon,
I recall that it was on a night like this,
Not a cloud was in the sky—
Only you, Dear Moon, did witness our first kiss.
How tender her embrace,
How sweet her lovely face.
Her voice so like the tones of soft guitars.
That moment so divine
When her heart beat next to mine.
That moment when my lips rested on hers.
Why did it end, oh Key West Moon?
Why didn't it last from June till June?
That love supreme, that love in bloom.
Why did it end, oh Key West Moon?
Memories are all she's left me,
Memories of a night like this.
Dear Moon above, bring back my love
If only for another kiss,
If only for another kiss.
