CLARKSBURG, Nov. 15. While jealousy or suspected infidelity is believed to have prompted the alleged murder of Mrs. Charlotte Wilburn, wife of Walter A. Wilburn, a miner at the O'Gara Coal and Coke Company's mine at Phoenixville, by Mrs Prudence Pollock, wife of Robert Pollock, the pit boss, who is in jail accused of throwing carbolic acid in the woman's face Saturday at her home, partial investigation by Acting Coroner J. T. Flynn, has failed to reveal the particulars in the case. Mrs. Wilburn died in acute agony twenty minutes after sustaining the acid burns. Mrs. Pollock was also burned by the acid, and may lose one eye. The husband of the dead woman swore out a felony warrant against Mrs. Pollock, and she was placed in jail after receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
