"Langdon W. Moore, chief of the gang of bank robbers who robbed the Lime Rock Bank in 1870, of whom he, with Hight and Litchfield, were sent to the state prison at Thomaston, passed through the city yesterday on his return to New York. He was sentenced to prison September 30th, 1870, under sentence of seven years, which he has served out, less the deduction of five days for each month of good conduct allowed by law. Moore is understood to be an expert cracksman and is notorious for his connection with the heavy robbery of the Concord Bank, and more recently for the robbery of the Norway Savings Bank, both of which affairs he managed to fix up without serving any time therefor."
