The election of officers has just terminated. Of the Messrs. Irwin, Thompson, Goodnow, and Shields, the Jackson candidates, have succeeded as members of congress, in the district, now represented by Messrs. Beecher, Sloane, Wright, and Woods. Judge Crane, Gen. Vance, Mr. Wheaton, Mr. Creighton, Mr. Vinton, and Mr. Bartley, all administration candidates, have succeeded by large majorities. The returns as far as received, give 30,445 votes to Gov. Trimble, and 27,233 to Campbell.

The Ohio State Journal of the 23d ult. says: There will be a clear administration majority in each house of the general assembly: and Gov. Trimble, against whom the opposition directed their principal efforts, has been elected by a very handsome vote.
