HAVANA.

Capt. Edes, arrived at Portland from the Havana, who sailed Jan. 4, states, that the port had been opened to American vessels for 30 days.

The Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce have announced the receipt of information from Cuba, "that every possible indulgence should be shewn to vessels arrived under the expectation of finding the ports open."

Capt Torrans, at Charleston from the Havana: sailed Jan. 10.-He informs, that American vessels were not admitted to an entry. Vessels allowed to anchor are obliged to pay 50 dollars pr. day. No prospect of better times.

The above intelligence is strangely contradictory. It is extraordinary that some official publications are not made-that merchants may possess correct information.
