San Francisco, June 7.—A courier arrived at Hermosillo to-day from the Mexican forces twenty miles south of Oposura with the information that Apaches attacked the settlements between that point and Sabouripe, killing a number of whites and stealing horses and cattle. The citizens are opposed to Crook's campaign. It is said had he not gone into the Sierra Madres the Indians would not have attacked the settlements in that locality. From the movements of the Indians it is surmised that Crook is now due east from Oposura on the main branch of the Yaqui river.
