This Year Than
Ever Dreamed Of
St. Patrick's Day last Wednesday brought out more "Irishmen" in Seward than was dreamed of. Just everybody, regardless of his name or heritage, was wearing the green that day.
Sam Romack, who invited the whole town to his annual celebration of the day, served homemade sauerkraut, pickled salmon, ham and potato salad to hundreds of friends during the day.
Catholic Party Crowded
The annual St. Patrick's Day party held by the Sacred Heart Church in the Civic Center was a tremendous success, judging from the vast crowd that thronged the place.
No report is available yet on the financial success of the affair, but it is expected to measure up favorably, as the games offered are very popular. The American Legion and Elks both suspended their activities in support of the church affair.
Mrs. Melvin Anderson, who lives on Nash Road is now the lucky owner of the handmade bedspread which was on display in Werner's window. Dennis Kielcheski sold the most tickets for the affair and was awarded a $25 savings bond.
So many people contributed to the success of the annual St. Patrick's Day party that it would be impossible to thank each one separately, the chairman said today, so they offer publicly grateful appreciation of Father Arnold Custer, members of the Parish of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of the committees in charge of the party, for all the kindness and generosity shown them by the people and organizations of Seward.
