NEW BRUNSWICK, N. J., June 7 — Nine deputy sheriffs were convicted of manslaughter for their participation in the events that resulted in the killing of two strikers at Roosevelt, N. J., last January. They were sentenced to serve not less than two or more than ten years in the penitentiary.
The trial has attracted the attention of the nation. Union labor assisted in securing the evidence that was used by the State in the prosecution. The convicted men will appeal the case to the State supreme court.
