In the Circuit Court at Athens last week the case of Enoch Collins vs. Absalom Fooshee, instituted several years ago, to recover damages alleged to have been inflicted by rebel soldiery at the instigation and procurement of defendant, was tried. At the first trial in the Circuit Court the jury gave plaintiff a verdict for $6,000! Defendant appealed to the Supreme Court, which tribunal sent the case back to the Court below, where it has been finally disposed of by a verdict for defendant. We notice it particularly, because it was the last of the "damage suits" in this part of the country.
