Full Text

The patriotick ardour that lately blazed forth among all ranks of people, and displayed itself in the loudest acclamations for Wilkes and Liberty, is now subsided into a silent glow of veneration, not less warm, though less glaring. Yet there are not wanting those who still pay avowed incense to those popular names. Among many others, none can be more remarkable than that of a Scotch carpenter and builder in Shoe lane, who has invited 45 of his friends to celebrate the patriot's birthday on Friday next at a publick house in that neighbourhood.
