A Cochise County Citizen Invests in Tucson

IS A MODERN BUILDING

Ground was broken today for the new hotel which Alex Casey is erecting at the corner of Sixth avenue and Twelfth streets.

The contract was let to McMilen and Southworth for $15,750. They will push the construction work rapidly and the hotel will be completed early the coming summer. The plans have been altered somewhat from the original design. The hotel will contain 30 rooms and will be of pressed brick instead of plain brick plastered as was at first proposed. The new hotel will face both Twelfth street and Sixth avenue; in the rear there will be a courtyard and Mr Casey will go to Los Angeles to purchase a fountain to be installed in this patio. He will spend between $1500 and $2000 in improving the grounds around and in front of the hotel-Tucson Citizen.
