Councilmen Roscoe Wilke and Dick Miller will head the committee for the City's Fourth of July festivities.
Mayor Andersen has sent an invitation to the governor to be speaker, as is traditional, for the formal program of the day and is also inviting both a military and naval band to participate in the parade.
The Tourist Committee has asked the city for permission to hold a bon fire on the sand spit when and if statehood is granted.
President Eisenhower will also be asked to announce statehood here in Nome, it was announced.
Eisenhower is an honorary member of Pioneer Igloo No. 1 here.
John McNees presented the idea of having dredge buckets at the street corners with the names of streets painted on them to add to the mining atmosphere of the community.
Lots 15, 16 and 19 in Block 66 were sold to Q Cab with the understanding that the south 9.8 feet of Lot 20 which they own will be turned over to the city for a through street.
The request of the M and M Bank for the construction of a concrete sidewalk in front of the bank, with the city paying half was denied at this time.
