This day his Grace Henry Fiennes Pelham Clinton, Duke of Newcastle, was, by his Majesty's command, sworn of his most Honourable Privy Council, and took his place at the board accordingly.
Dec. 3. Thursday night the House of Lords sat till past nine o'Clock.
The House of Commons was very full yesterday, and sat late.
Dec. 17. The Honourable House of Commons which met on Thursday, sat till half an hour past one o'Clock yesterday morning.
Dec. 20. This day his Majesty went in State to the House of Peers, and gave the Royal Assent to the following Bills, viz.
The Bill for granting an aid to his Majesty of 3d. in the pound land tax, to be raised in Great Britain for 1769.
The Bill for continuing the duties on malt, mum, cyder, and perry for 1769.
The Bill for allowing a further time for the free importation of rice into this kingdom from his Majesty's colonies in North America.
Yesterday the poll for the election of a Knight of the shire for the county of Middlesex was continued at Brentford, pursuant to the last adjournment; at the close of which the numbers stood as follows:
