Women's Day will be held in its annual program at St. Paul AME Church, Dr. Robert A. Jackson, pastor. Rev. Slayton Matthews, assistant.
The pastor appointed Mrs. Wilhemina Johnson, a fine aggressive and willing worker, a former member of St. Stephen's, Jacksonville. Since being here a number of years she has proven to be a fine leader. Mrs. Johnson has the very fine spirited cooperation of all of the membership. Her goal is $2,000.
She has commended some of St. Paul's best workers and everybody is anxious to help her raise the amount.
St. Paul annually has two major rallies, called Women's and Men's Day. The entire membership knows that these are the days that monies must be raised for our pastor's report as a duty to our general church's up keep and support so that the church will roll on.
The women cannot get on in their rally without the men. And the men certainly cannot get on without the women. They are boasting that they are going to beat the women and the women say that it cannot be done.
We as laymen are very proud of St. Paul and our much beloved pastor; we are anxious to do our part 100 per cent when we send him to Key West to represent St. Paul and stand before the Bishop. He must be ready Jan 7, 1953.
Let us help the fine chair ladies who were reappointed.
