BUTTE—Boyd county voters went for Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower in a big way Tuesday—1,622 for Ike, 723 for Gov. Adlai Stevenson. Any time over two thousand votes are cast in Boyd it's a big election. Tuesday's ballot count soared to 2,345.
In the U.S. senate regular term Hugh Butler, republican, defeated Stanley D. Long, democrat, 1,637-574. For the senate short term office, Dwight Griswold, republican, bested William Ritchie, democrat, 1,403-835.
In the Fourth congressional district race, the incumbent, Dr. A. L. Miller of Kimball, handily defeated Atkinson's Mayor Francis D. Lee, 1,576-584.
Only one county race attracted interest in Boyd. R. W. Dickerson, republican, defeated Oscar Peterson, democrat, for Sixth district supervisor. The count was 253-189.
