Bozeman, Jan. 24.—The use of phosphate fertilizer on potatoes has shown an increase in Beaverhead county during the past year, according to Bernard Williams, county extension agent.
In 1936 only three growers used phosphate, he said, and the results were so good that this past year a total of 20 farmers fertilized with phosphate.
Increased interest has also been shown in potato grading and in 1937 it is estimated by Williams that 25 growers graded 4,000 sacks for market. The first potato grading was done in the county in 1934 when five growers graded 1,340 sacks.
