STOPS FORCING OF BUDS
Growers-No Damage up to This Time.
A fruit grower being asked if the recent balmy weather had had any effect in forcing the fruit buds, said that there has been a noticeable forcing forward of the buds, especially of the peach and cherry. This, however, has not been sufficient to cause anxiety as to any probable damage to the coming season's crops. The weather which suddenly turned much colder yesterday evening will stop any further development in this direction, for the present time at least. This fall in temperature, fruit growers feel, was timely.
