It is mentioned in the Boston News Papers, as tho' near an hundred of the New Hampshire Provincials were met in coming back, but for what Reason, say they, we know not. This must, at least, be a Mistake, there not being above ten or twelve missing out of the whole Regiment; five or six of them being unable to proceed: the others no doubt will be dealt with as they deserve. Whatever Pretensions any Gentlemen of a magnifying Genius may have in a neighbouring Province, in finding Fault with others; perhaps they would be as well employed, could they inform us that the whole of their own Number were marched, and upon Duty.
The New Hampshire Regiment have by impartial Judges been allowed to be as complete a Number of picked Men as any on the Continent: Tho' we will not pretend to say but our whole Regiment may be upon their Return with the Ensigns of Victory, before some others are on their march, and ought to have been at their Place of Destination long before now; but for what Reason we know not.
