MANY HIKERS ARE ON WAY TO SOUTH

HIGHWAYS DOTTED WITH THOSE LEAVING POINTS IN THE NORTH

Automobile tourists and Key Westers returning over the highway from points in the north, report the roads being dotted here and there with hikers on their way south.

In some places along the highways, it is said, men, and boys of all ages, and even women with families have been encountered plodding their way from the chilly north.

Railroad employes also say they are beginning to have their troubles with these travelers, and though used to annual flock of "leg tourists", who, when not walking, are stealing rides, are amazed at the large number this year and the fact that they are starting their pilgrimage so early in the season.
