HEAVY RAIN HITS RENO

Yesterday while Carson was enjoying a summer rain, it poured down in Reno, resulting in considerable damage to crops and roadways.

The storm was accompanied by heavy hail, which did considerable damage to growing crops and grain that was down. Fruit was knocked from the trees, flower beds ruined and several basements flooded.

At Verdi the storm was even heavier resulting in putting the substation out of commission.

The Truckee River raised nearly a foot in the hour of storm period.
