Man Arrested For Cutting Woman

James Smith, 591 Iglehart was arrested August 2, on suspicion on a warrant signed by Annie Porter of the same address. Mrs. Porter told St. Paul police she was cut by Smith who she described as her boy-friend. She had a black eye and a knife wound and cuts on neck and left thumb. Smith left the scene before officers arrived but was arrested later and booked on "suspicion of assault." When Smith was arrested he had a stab wound in his left forearm. He was treated at Ancker hospital before being booked at headquarters. Officers say both Smith and Mrs. Porter were under the influence of liquor and could not give coherent statements on the fracas.
