ETHEL GOOD
NEW YORK The coming of Ethel Waters to a spot in radio is big news, easily making the front page. Her offerings are diversified and it is gratifying to note that good tunes by Negro writers are receiving the unique interpretation that only Ethel can give. Last week she sold "I'm Delta Bound" composition by Eddie Mallory in grand style, among five numbers credited by members of the band featured with her on the National Broadcasting hook-up. Deep souled sincerity and a sweet, ingratiating voice with a lilt of humor behind even the most mournful blues will soon place this singer, who is no less an actress, at the top of the radio list.
