Americus Wants a Shoofly Train.

Americus, Ga., March 12.-Americus merchants are endeavoring to have the Georgia and Alabama Railroad put on accommodation in "shoo-fly" trains between Fitzgerald and this city. To this end a petition signed by every business house and shipper in the city will be forwarded Manager Cecil Gabbett Monday. The officials of the road have signified their willingness to operate such a schedule under guarantee against actual loss, and as this is practically assured by the merchants here it is now believed the trains will be put on at an early date.
