State Encampment
Special to the Gazette.
LAMPASAS, TEX., June 18.—All arrangements are now completed for the grand encampment here next week. Companies are now generally definitely notifying their intention to be present; in fact the number reported as coming is so large that some additional preparations had to be made yesterday. The celebrated Houston Light Guard have notified that they will be here. A letter was received last night from Gov. Ireland that he would likely be present. Several prominent politicians have also said "we will be there." The companies of United States troops from San Antonio and Fort Concho will likely arrive to-night or to-morrow. Judging from number of letters received the attendance of civilians will probably reach 5000. The encampment promises to be one of the grandest successes ever held in the Lone Star state.
