NEWPORT, Rhode Island, Aug 5.

On Sunday last arrived Capt. Whitman from Turk's Island. Just before he came into port, he spoke with the Captain of a Ship, bound for Philadelphia, who had been 13 days from Quebec; from whom he received the following intelligence: That nine sail of men of war and a number of transports arrived there from England: That General Murray, with about 40 frigates and transports, had left Quebec, in order to meet General Amherst at Montreal, who had marched for that place: And, that he met the troops which were in the garrison at Louisbourg, in the river, bound to Quebec.
